AS PART of the continuous crusade to upgrade the quality of governance in San Simon town, supporters of mayoral aspirant Allan Garcia held on Sunday, April 10, a caravan-for-a-cause.
The activity, which gathered hundreds of supporters on tricycles and four-wheeled vehicles, went around the 14 barangays of San Simon.
According to Krista Rivera, one of the participants of the caravan, the activity was organized to show support for Garcia and promote his advocacy of providing reform in local governance.
“Kailangan na natin ng pagbabago sa San Simon at ng new blood at we believe that we will make the change we need in this town through our candidate,” she said.
The activity was also participated in by Garcia himself, his runningmate Jordan Clinton and their councilorable slate.
Garcia expressed gratitude to his supporters for exemplifying volunteerism, generosity and love for others through the caravan-for-a-cause.
He said supporters who joined the activity, as well as those who were not able to come have pledged to share cash and in-kind goods that will be donated to Nuestra Señora del Pilar Parish and various non-government organizations.
Garcia added that the caravan supports its advocacy to improve the level of political campaigning in town as its goal is to raise funds to aid needy people.
Meanwhile, the caravan-for-a-cause of Garcia’s camp also coincided with signing of pledge of commitment for clean, honest, accurate, meaningful and peaceful elections organized by the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting.
During the said event, Garcia presented his platforms for governance, including god-fearing leadership, maintenance of peace and order, and development on eco-tourism, agricultural, health and education sector, before the parishioners.
