RETURNING Mayor Oscar Rodriguez is optimistic that many Fernandino voters continue to practice maturity in their political stands.

Rodriguez said the number of crowd — some of which are voters in the city — during the Manalakaran grand rally for presidential candidate Vice Leni Robredo and runningmate Senator Kiko Pangilinan is a manifestation of the level of maturity that Filipino voters have.

Rodriguez, a vocal supporter of Robredo, led a unity walk along with dozens of supporters for the Leni-Kiko tandem prior to the Manalakaran grand rally.

The unity walk kicked off from the Laus Group Complex where a mini caucus was also held, and ended at the rally’s venue at Robinsons Starmills open grounds.

“Ang mga botante, sa simula’t simula pa ng aking political career, ay nagpapakita na ng political maturity. At itong pagsama nila sa akin sa pagsuporta kay Leni ay patunay na naiintindihan nila ang nangyayari sa ating bansa at ang pangangailangan nito ng isang matino at magaling na lider,” Rodriguez said.

The returning mayor said the participation of Fernandinos in the “bayanihan” and volunteerism, a known Filipino trait ignited by Robredo candidacy, also show the progressive choices of voters in this capital city.

“This is very phenomenal because it is really it is really a people’s campaign. The Fernandinos, the Kapampangans and the Filipinos are really doing ‘bayanihan’ because of the yearn for a better governance,” Rodriguez said.
