Iranun district hospital gets fully equipped ambulance

THE Ministry of Health in the Bangasmoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-Barmm) has purchased a P3 million worth of new ambulance for Iranun District Hospital in Parang, Maguindanao.

Dr. Zul Qarneyn Abas, officer-in-charge minister of health, said in a statement Monday, April 11, that the fully equipped ambulance was turned over to the district hospital on Thursday, April 7.

The purchase of the ambulance was funded under the General Appropriation Act of the Bangsamoro (Gaab) 2021.

"An ambulance is a very important tool in all emergency cases since it is used in transporting patients to health facilities, particularly those who need immediate medical attention and response," Abas said."

He said more ambulances are in the pipeline for the other hospitals in Barmm.

Dr. Amirel Usman, MOH-Barmm director-general and in-charge of the Iranun District Hospital, said the purchase of the ambulance is a timely addition to the hospital's fleet of responders, particularly during the prevailing health crisis.

"We only have one ambulance. In case we need an immediate medical situation, we can give help to our patients now that we have an additional ambulance. We are trying to make both ends meet for our constituents and we really need this badly," Usman said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
