2 fall in anti-drug stings

TWO people were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City and in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Tuesday, April 12.

The Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula identified the arrested suspects as Jeffrey Taradji, 39; and Gena Catiloc, 36.

The police said that Taradji was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 12:14 a.m. Sunday on Malunggay Drive in Santa Barbara, Zamboanga City.

Seized from the suspect were some P13,600 worth of shabu packed in three heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money.

Gatiloc was arrested in another anti-drug operation around 10:12 p.m. Sunday in Purok 8 in Biasong village, Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte, according to the police.

Recovered from his possession were some P10,200 worth of shabu, P500 marked money, P1,490 cash in different denominations, a coin purse, and a sling bag.

The police said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
