THE Joint Task Force (JTF)-Sulu troops have been urged to march in unison on fishing the remaining Abu Sayyaf bandits who continue to sow terror in peaceful communities in the province of Sulu.

This, as Brigadier General Arturo Rojas, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) deputy commander for external defense operations, lauded and assured the JTF-Sulu of its full support to the peace campaigns and security operations.

Rojas said the relentless efforts of the JTF- Sulu had been contributory to the success of Westmincom's accomplishments for the first quarter of the year, noting that task force recorded a total of 46 surrenders with 29 high-powered firearms and seven low-powered guns recovered.

"I, therefore, urge the JTF-Sulu troopers to march in unison as we finish the remaining ASG bandits who continue to sow terror in peaceful communities here in Sulu," Rojas said.

"The Westmincom is always here to support you towards our collective vision of lasting peace and sustainable development in the province of Sulu," he added.

Rojas visited the JTF-Sulu headquarters in Camp General Bautista, Jolo, Sulu on Monday, April 11, and paid a courtesy call on Major General Ignatius Patrimonio, the 11th Infantry Division (ID) commander.

Rojas was received by Colonel Christopher Tampus, JTF-Sulu chief-of-staff, and was accorded with the traditional military honor by the officers and enlisted personnel of the 11ID.

In a meeting, Patrimonio briefed Rojas of the security updates and accomplishments to include the ongoing efforts and the ways ahead of the JTF-Sulu on its campaign in Sulu.

Prior to his current assignment, Rojas was the 2nd Marine Brigade commander whose area of operations covers the whole province of Tawi-Tawi.

Rojas is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy "Bigkis-Lahi" Class of 1990. (SunStar Zamboanga)
