OVER 3,000 people joined the “unity walk” organized by the supporters of presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio in Cebu City on Sunday morning, April 17, 2022.

The event preceded the tandem’s first grand rally in Cebu, dubbed as “Uniteam Festival Rally,” which will happen on Monday afternoon, April 18 at the South Road Properties (SRP).

Organizers expect that the grand rally will draw around 400,000 people.

The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has prepared its security for the grand rally that will start at 1 p.m. and has advised motorists to avoid SRP as the event could cause traffic in the area.

As for the “unity walk,” the CCPO described it as peaceful and no reported traffic disruption on Sunday morning. The walk started at 6 a.m. from the Capitol grounds and ended at 11 a.m. at Plaza Independencia.

Rowena Burden, one of the activity’s organizers, said in a social media post that they held the “unity walk” without spending money from the camp of Marcos and Duterte-Carpio, the incumbent mayor of Davao City and daughter of outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte. (AYB, BBT / KAL)
