NOWADAYS, vloggers, social media influencers, and hosts, are everywhere. But did you know that one of the most sought-after socmed influencer is a Dabawenyo?

That's right! And that it is because his concepts and stories in making his own vlogs either for a product, for corporate or for whatever he intends to promote on social media are perfectly written and executed.

Thirty-four-year-old Christian Carlo Rea, single, shares his experience to those who want to become a successful vlogger, at the same time inspire other people.

Christian has already been chosen by around 50 restaurants in Davao City and Davao Region to promote their food businesses because he is very good at creating and conceptualizing promotion and marketing vlogs through his Christian Carlo Rea personal blog.

“Sa Quezon City ako pinanganak, but sa Davao na ako lumaki, nagtapos ng pag-aaral (I was born in Quezon City, but I grew up and finished my studies in Davao City), proud to be a Dabawenyo),” Christian said during an interview with SunStar Davao Superbalita.

In his effort to finish college, Christian worked as an office clerk at Sta. Ana Church in Sta. Ana Avenue, this city.

“Sa morning ako naga-work, then by afternoon mag-school ako, here sa Holy Cross College, walking distance lang naman from the church (I work during the morning, then go to school in the afternoon at the Holy Cross of Davao College, since it was just walking distance from the church),” Christian narrated.

In 2013, he realized that poverty is not a hindrance to one's success, as he finished his marketing management course under Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) at the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC).

“Tita nako ang akong gipuy-an sa Davao, gibubo nako akong panahon sa work, sa pag-eskuwela, hangtud nga niabot gyud sa point nga nailhan nako akong self nga mamahimong usa ka vlogger, influencer... before pa, hilig nako'g editing sa photos and videos (I live with my tita here in Davao. I poured all my time in my work, in my studies, until I realized that I aimed to become a vlogger, influencer, since even before, I have always been interested in editing photos and videos),” Christian, who is also known as a freelance model, narrated.

But what's his secret in getting other people's trust?

"Aside sa passion, dedication ug courage lang gyod nga ibutang sa hunahuna nga kaya nako tanan, I am confident, kay gusto nako ang akong ginabuhat. Siyempre kinahanglan ang determinasyon ug ang focus sa atong kaugalingon (Aside from passion, I also put in mind dedication and courage that I can do all things. I am confident because I love what I do. And of course, we also need determination and focus),” he added.

Every time he thinks about his achievements, what he has in mind is not to boast but to inspire other people; to share his talents, and to express himself.

“You know, hanging kaayo akong self, akong kinabuhi kung dili nako makab-ot ang mga butang nga kabalo man ko nga kaya nakong makab-ot, busa paningkamotan ko gyud kini, pinaagi sa pagkugi, dili mosurender, padayon lang kay sa mga husto nga takna makab-ot kining tanan uban sa panalangin sa Diyos (I feel there is lacking in my self, my life, if I couldn't reach the things that I knew I am capable of achieving, that is why I am persevering to achieve these things through sheer hard work, persistence, and perseverance to continue what I love to do because I believe that when the right time comes, I will achieve great things with the blessing of God),” Christian said.

Meanwhile, in the world of love, Christian is not closing his doors to anybody who would knock on his heart at the right time. He said he is patiently waiting for the right person who would share the same feeling without hesitation and without condition.

Christian is also open to proposals from companies who trust in his talent as an influencer.

In the pursuit of his dreams in life, he also pursue building his own house - founded by others' trust in him.

"Kung gusto gyud ka mahimong vlogger, himoa... ayaw og hunong, you have to push lang gyod, dili tapulon, dawaton ang mga offer, ma gamay man o dako, as long as maayo (If you really want to be a vlogger, do it. Do not stop. You have to push it, don't slack. Accept every offer, whether how big or small as long as it's good),” Christian said.

Christian's story shows that if you really love what you are doing and you do it with determination and courage, it will always bring you good; it will bear fruit, and it will bring you happiness.
