THE Naval Inspector General (TNIG) has started the conduct of the Annual General Inspection (AGI) to the Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM).

The AGI started Monday, April 18, and is set to end on Friday, April 22.

Major General Jonas Lumawag, TNIG, is spearheading the conduct of the AGI.

The purpose of the AGI is to evaluate the relevance and applicability of policies, systems, and procedures prescribed and being implemented by the higher echelon of the organization relative to the unit's performance, mission accomplishment, and organizational transformation.

Lumawag, upon his arrival here Monday, April 18, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Alfredo Rosario Jr., commander of the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom).

Major Andrew Linao, Westmincom information officer, said that a company-sized military honors was rendered to Lumawag by the officers and enlisted personnel of Westmincom.

Rosario then received Lumawag at the Laong Laan Hall at Camp Navarro that houses the Westmincom headquarters in Calarian village, Zamboanga City.

Lumawag is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy "Bigkis Kahi" Class of 1990.

He was previously designated as the brigade commander of 1st Marine Brigade (1MBde) based at Sitio Bombaran in Tugaig village, Barira, Maguindanao.

Rosario said they are always grateful to all who take the time to visit and extend their support to Westmincom.

He also expressed his admiration for the leadership style of Lumawag, which resulted to several laudable accomplishments of the 1MBde during the latter's stint as the unit's brigade commander.

Lumawag thanked the Westmincom team for the warm welcome during his first official visit to the command. (SunStar Zamboanga)
