THE Commissions on Elections (Comelec) is holding a public demonstration of voters counting machine VCM in various SM malls all over the country.
The VCM demo is conducted in SM malls of Tarlac, Pampanga, Clark, Olongapo Cabanatuan and all other 78 Supermalls nationwide.
The mock voting exercise is part of Comelec’s Voter Education Program aimed at offering the voting population experience on how to cast a vote during the election day.
VCMs are deployed in SM malls and mock ballots are available for mall goers to have a first-hand experience in using the machines.
The VCM demo in SM City Pampanga, SM City Clark, SM City Telabastagan and SM City San Fernando Downtown runs for five days from April 20 to 24.
SM City Tarlac, SM City Olongapo, and SM Olongapo Central, on the other hand, will hold the mock voting for three days from April 22-24, while it will be on April 23 in SM City Cabanatuan.
The demonstration of the VCMs would take place during malls hours and would be open to everyone.
SM Supermalls had tied up with Comelec by providing venue for voters’ registration. This partnership started in 2014.
