HUNDREDS of motorists in different types of vehicles joined the convoy that drove through major thoroughfares in Minalin town on Saturday, April 17, for re-electionist Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda and local candidates.
It was past 3 p.m. when different vehicles and motorcycles gathered in Barangay Sto. Domingo where the motorcade started and toured 14 barangays of the town.
Among those who joined the motorcade included Fourth District congressional candidate Dr. Anna York Bondoc-Sagum, Fourth District Board Members Nelson Calara and Pol Balingit, mayoralty candidate Rolly Flores and his running mate Jake Yambao, and other members of Team Panyulung.
"Governor Pineda's support is overwhelming, we are really very lucky because he is our governor, he has done a lot here in Minalin," Flores said.
He said if he succeeds in winning, he will continue what his brother incumbent Minalin Mayor Edgar Flores started.
He said he will further intensify programs for the education of the youth as well as the economic development of the town.
It is estimated that about one hundred vehicles and motorcycles participated in the motorcade.
Jeanette Nunag-Culala, 42, who has been a Nanay Community Worker (NCW) in Barangay Lourdes, was on the street to show his support for Pineda and local bets.
“He [Pineda] has done a lot to make sure that basic health services are mad available to the poor and the grassroots level. The Provincial Government has done so much for the development of Minalin in recent years,” Nunag-Culala said.
