Amparo faces Sasan for WBF AsPac belt in ‘Kumong Bol-anon IV’

JAKE Amparo and Roldan Sasan trade leathers in a 10-round fight for the vacant World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Asia Pacific minimumweight belt in the main event of “Kumong Bol-anon IV” on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Dauis Gym in Dauis, Bohol

Amparo is looking to win the first belt of his budding career in this fight. The 22-year-old Guindulman, Bohol native is coming off a huge win, a second round knockout of Ronald Ewican last March 7 in Dauis.

Amparo’s career losses are against quality competition in Gare Diagan, Arvin Magramo and Regie Suganob.

Sasan, in the meantime, is eager to bounce back after a unanimous decision defeat to Jonathan Almacen in 2019. Sasan’s only other career defeat is a third round technical knockout in the hands of highly world-rated Mark Vicelles.

Amparo is 7-3-1 with two knockouts, while Sasan is 8-2 with three knockouts.

In the undercard, Antonio Seismundo (7-3, 7 KOs) faces off with John Lawrence Ordonio (7-2-1, 4 KOs), Johnriel Castino (9-1, 4 KOs) locks horns with Remon Basas (6-6, 4 KOs), Angilou Dalogdog (3-0, 2 KOs) squares off with Jimpol Dignos (2-2, 1 KO), Christian Balunan (2-0, 1 KO) clashes with Jomari Ladera (2-2, 1 KO), Shane Gentallan (2-0, 1 KO) faces against Darwin Boyones (3-2, 1 KO), Daniel Nicolas (3-0, 2 KOs) is up against Mark Anthony Rotilles (2-8, 1 KO), Reymart Tagacanao (1-0, 1 KO) slugs it out with Miel Beronio, Rey Dogelio (1-0, 1 KO) is fighting Joselito Malinao (0-1), Rodel Fuentes (0-1) takes on Mario Baja, former Palarong Pambansa gold medalist RJ Sios-e transitions into the pro ranks against fellow rookie Francis Luis Lota, Frances Damloan makes his pro debut against fellow newcomer Zaire Espedilla and Alex del Rio (2-0, 2 KOs) faces off with Roga Libres (3-17).
