6 bus operators get show cause orders

THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued show cause orders (SCOs) against six public utility bus (PUB) operators for alleged violation of their Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC).

LTFRB-Central Luzonn learned that the bus companies failed to operate in several terminals in Pampanga on April 20, 2022.

The agency said that thousands of passengers were stranded due to the unavailability of buses.

The bus firms include Victory Liner Inc., Genesis Transport Service Inc., Bataan Transit Bus Co. Inc., Five Star Bus Inc., First North Luzon Transit Inc., and Maria De Leon.

The passenger terminals include Dau Terminal in Mabalacat; Robinsons Mall Terminal, City of San Fernando; Victory Liner Terminal, City of San Fernando; Bataan Transit Terminal, City of San Fernando; Genesis Terminal, City of San Fernando; and Bus Stop in Mexico town.

The bus companies were asked to explain because of the incident on April 20. With this, The LTFRB has set a virtual hearing on May 10.
