THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is deploying 944 uniformed personnel to maintain peace and order during the national and local elections on May 9, 2022.

Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said some of them will also be deployed outside Negros Occidental.

"We have enough personnel so some of them will augment to other units in Negros Occidental," Gabana said.

He said they will deploy two to four personnel in every voting center.

They will also ready their quick reaction force in case of any untoward incidents in any polling centers.

He said they will also deploy personnel to the Commission on Election (Comelec) to ensure the safety of the delivery of Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) to the polling centers.

Bacolod City earlier identified 45 public schools as voting centers for May elections with 450 clustered precincts and 1, 350 teachers who will serve as members of the electoral board.

Gabana disclosed that the BCPO is on full alert status and policemen will be deployed to various polling centers a day before the election’s day.*
