VOTERS whose names cannot be found in the official website of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) should check their status with the agency’s local offices.
The advice was made Monday, April 25, by Negros Occidental Provincial Comelec Supervisor lawyer Roberto Salazar amid complaints of some voters that they cannot find their names when they check it with the Comelec's precinct finder.
Registered voters may now check their actual polling precincts before the election day.
This, as the Comelec on Friday, April 22, made the precinct finder accessible to the public for the first time since 2016.
Voters may now check the details of their voter registration records at https://voterverifier.comelec.gov.ph/voter_precinct.
Upon entering the website, voters are asked to provide information, such as if they are local or overseas voters, first name, middle name, last name, and place of registration (province, city/municipality).
The Comelec has partnered with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to host the former’s numerous online systems essential to the forthcoming elections, including the precinct finder that was launched by Comelec on Friday, April 22.
Upon logging into the website, voters are asked to provide their location, name, and place of registration.
The website shows the voter’s status along with the location and number of the precinct.
Also, it has a precinct finder, registration status verifier, online voter certification application, and the national and local election results website.
Salazar said that some complained that the server is down, that's why they cannot log in at the website sometimes.
Aside from the Comelec website, voters can also check their registration status in their respective barangays where voter's lists are posted, he said.
“Those who cannot access their names are either deactivated for failure to vote in the two previous elections or Overseas Filipino Workers who have registered for absentee voting,” the Comelec official said.
In these cases, the commission advises them to check with their respective town or city Comelec offices, he added.
