CAGAYAN de Oro will start administering the second booster dose for the 18-year-old immunocompromised population next week.

The City Health Office said that this is in line with the Department of Health (DOH) Memorandum 2022-0154, which was released on April 22, or the “Interim Operational Guidelines on the Administration of 2nd Covid-19 Vaccine Booster Doses to Immunocompromised Population (ICPs) ages 18 years old and above.”

Acting City Health Officer Dr. William Bernardo clarified that only 18-year-old and above immunocompromised individuals who already received their first booster dose three months ago are the ones allowed to receive the second booster shot.

These individuals only need to show their valid identification card, vaccination card, and medical certificate as proof that they belong to the immunocompromised population.

DOH guidelines stated that among the immunocompromised population are people with immunodeficiency, HIV, active cancer or malignancy, transplant recipients, undergoing steroid treatment, patients with poor prognosis/bed-ridden patients, and other immunodeficiency conditions certified by a medical doctor.
