PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo has branded as fake news the claims that she is a member of the elite.

During her Monday visit, April 25, with runningmate Senator Kiko Pangilinan in Gapan, Nueva Ecija, Robredo stressed her simple lifestyle.

The opposition candidate also mentioned the various projects under the Office of the Vice President (OVP) that mostly benefit the marginalized sector.

She cited some of the OVP programs downloaded in Nueva Ecija province, such as granting of financial and medical assistance to poor patients who were admitted at the Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center sa Cabanatuan and Talavera General Hospital.

During the rally dubbed as "Anehan Na Naman!: Nueva Ecija Miting de Avance," representatives of different sectors of society such as priest and ordinary workers were the ones who raised the hands of the Robredo-Pangilinan as a sign of endorsement.

Aside from the grand rally, Robredo also attended a sectoral gathering in Cabanatuan City where she stressed the need to prioritize the country’s maritime sector.

She also disclosed her plan to improve the quality of trainings and seminars for Filipino seafarers to boost their skills and competency which will equate to higher wage.
