Lacson: The heartbeat in the home

THERE’S definitely more to just being called a mother, of being a female parent, if we are to follow the denotative meaning of the word. The word bears a lot of other meanings such as love, care, patience, and many more. This Sunday, we’ll celebrate Mother’s Day, and this is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the joys and triumphs of being a mother.

Being a mom for more than a decade now, I can say that my life is meaningful. There’s this unexplainable feeling of fulfillment, joy and completion of having been God’s instrument of life. It is truly a miracle how a human being is born out of a woman’s womb, and until now I am still amazed how a cute little being came from me. Nothing can ever replace the happiness of just knowing how a little baby becomes a product of pure, unconditional love between a man and a woman.

Surely, there isn’t a single word to best describe or define how our mothers have touched our lives, and how we can express our thoughts about being a mother. For all I know, mothers will give up everything even her own life, and will do anything to give what is best for her children. Though there are times when we don’t seem to understand their decisions and plans for us, in the end we always say “Mothers know best.” This Sunday, let us show our gratitude to our mothers not only by giving material things but most importantly, by making them feel how much they are loved, needed and appreciated.

Happy Mothers’ Day to everyone especially to my one and only mom, Joyce Catap. Thank you for everything that you’ve done and given to us your children. You are the best mom and we couldn’t ask for more. We all love you!
