Comelec checks election ballots

AMID calls for a deferment of the elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) proceeded with the routine inspection of ballots Friday at the City Treasurer's Office, along with party representatives and candidates themselves.

A ballot box was opened in front of the party representatives to show that ballots have not been tampered.

Party representatives have also been furnished copies of the bills of lading, which contains the serial number of the ballots and the polling center where it will be delivered.

Meanwhile, City Treasurer Thelma Manaois said the City Treasurer's Office and the Comelec are ready to deploy the ballots to the polling centers Sunday morning.

The Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines will also be tested and sealed at the precincts Sunday afternoon.

City Election Officer Modesto Bahul Jr. said compact flash cards for Baguio will also be distributed on Sunday.

Baguio has 221 clustered precincts, 56 polling centers and over 154,000 registered voters.
