THE City Health Office of Cagayan de Oro reported on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, three new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, the lowest since January 1 of this year.
This brought the total number of confirmed Covid-19 infections in the city to 3,332.
Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the three new local cases, one is a close contact of a previously confirmed case, one local authorized person outside residence (Apor), and one local index case.
Mayor Oscar Moreno said while he is happy that the city only registered three cases of Covid-19, the public should still continue observing the minimum public health standards.
"Nalipay ta nga tulo ra ang na-report karon pero I want to emphasize, dili gyud ta angay magkompyansa," Moreno said.
"Mas maayo gyud unta paminawon nga gamay na lang gi-report kay wala na gyuy mga bag-ong positive. That can only happen kung ang katawhan mag kooperar. Let's do it mga igsoon, kaya man nato na," he added.
Of the 3,332 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 419 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,913 cases are local transmissions.
According to Nery, the 2,913 local cases consist of 185 persons deprived of liberty, 1,467 local index cases and 1,261 local cases with link.
Cagayan de Oro has recorded 259 active cases, 72 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 186 outpatients, and one ROF/LSI.
The city also registered 38 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,904.
Of the figure, 300 are LSIs, 117 are ROFs, and 2,487 are local cases (community: 2,095; Apors: 392).
The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 169.
