5 persons wounded in Nueva Ecija shooting incident

FIVE security personnel of a mayor in Nueva Ecija were wounded in a shooting incident with other security personnel in Barangay Concepcion, General Tinio at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Reports reaching Brigadier General Matthew Baccay, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon director, said General Tinio police responded at the scene and saw two vehicles, a White Nissan Navarra and Gray Ford Raptor both riddled with bullets.

Baccay said the five unidentified security guards are allegedly detailed to Mayoralty candidate Virgilio Bote.

The police official added that 19 individuals, reportedly security personnel of incumbent mayor Isidro Pajarillaga, were also present in the area where the shooting incident occurred.

Confiscated from the security personnel of Bote were a 12-gauge shotgun and a caliber .45 pistol while from Pararillaga's men were 5 M-16 rifles; 11 caliber .45 pistols; one.40 caliber pistol; one 12-gauge shotgun; 71 bullets for M-16, 138 bullets for caliber .45; 41 pieces bullets for .9mm; 12 pieces of ammunition for caliber .40; 8 bullets for shotgun; 6 magazines for M-16; 26 magazines for pistols; 20 cellular phones; three handheld radios; campaign leaflets and other personal effects.
