A MAMMOTH crowd covered the entire stretch of the Mabiga Open Grounds in Mabalacat City, Pampanga on May 7, 2022, as Mabalaqueños from all walks of life converge to bring Team MCG led by Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and Vice Mayor Gerald Aquino to a landslide victory on the May 9 polls.
According to the organizers and the local Philippine National Police, an estimated 12,000 Mabalaqueños attended the final rally of Team MCG.
Organizers said the massive support of Mabalaqueños is more than an exhibition of strength and solidarity, but a prelude to the outcome of the upcoming local elections in Mabalacat City.
“Sa mahabang panahon ay naging uhaw ang mga Mabalaqueños sa ganitong uri ng pamamahala at liderato. Ngayon na kanila na itong natamasa, nakita natin na buo ang suporta ng ating mga mamamayan upang ipagpatuloy ang daan tungo sa Bayung Mabalacat,” said Patrick Fiel Sacay, leader of the Ibalaus ing Bayung Mabalacat Movement (IBMM).
“Ang pangangailangan ng mga mamamayan ang naging sentro ng magagandang programa at liderato ni Mayor Garbo. Kaya walang duda kung bakit ganito na lamang ang pagtanggap ng mga Mabalaqueños sa Team MCG,” the good governance activist added.
The finale rally of Team MCG highlighted all the concrete achievements of the Garbo-Aquino administration as well as their expanded platforms to propel the Bayung Mabalacat vision.
Team MCG’s council slate composed of Jun Castro, Liza Pineda, Jerry Magsino, Cherry Manalo, Noel Castro, Timmy Dee, Marjorie Sambo, Carlo Dizon, Doc Cocoy Tiglao, and Rox Peña also delivered their respective accomplishments. Incumbent Pampanga Governor and frontrunner Dennis “Delta” Pineda was also present to express his support to the entire Team MCG slate, including outgoing Councilor Win-Win Garbo and Benny Jocson who are both gunning for a First District Board Member seat at the provincial capitol.
Aside from keynote messages, beneficiaries of MCG’s wide range of government services also made pre-taped testimonials and surprise appearances during the grand rally to air their support for the Garbo-Aquino tandem.
“Sa ating nagkakaisang pagtindig, abot-tanaw natin ang tagumpay. Handang-handa na ang Team MCG upang ipagpatuloy ang ating nasimulan na magbibigay na bagong anyo, bagong mukha sa ating pinakamamahal na siyudad ng Mabalacat,” said Mayor Garbo.
“Umpisa pa lamang po ang ating unang termino, sa ating ikalawang termino ay sisiguraduhin natin na mas magiging malawak ang ating serbisyo upang maabot natin ang mas marami pang Mabalaqueño na nangangailangan ng ating tulong at kalinga. Ito po ang Bayung Mabalacat,” the city mayor added.
