It's Election Day: Get out and vote

IT'S Election Day today, May 9, 2022, and some 65 million Filipinos are going to decide on who will lead them in the next three to six years.

But because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the government will implement minimum health standards in polling places.

For senior citizens, persons with disabilities and pregnant women, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has prepared

a special lane.

In Pampanga, more than 1.5 million registered voters are expected to cast their votes.

Based on the data released by the Comelec-Pampanga, there are 1,580,473 registered voters in the province.

The number makes Pampanga the 10th most vote-rich province in the country after Cebu with the most number of registered voters, followed by Cavite, Pangasinan, Laguna, Bulacan, Negros Occidental, Batangas, Iloilo and Rizal.

From the Comelec data, some 503,841 Kapampangan voters are in the 18 to 30 years old age bracket, while the remaining 1,076,582 voters are aged 31 years old and above.

The Kapampangan voters will be casting their voters in a total of 2,356 clustered precincts inside the 540 voting centers across the province.

Kapampangan voters will be electing one new president and vice president, 12 senators, one party-list, one district representative, one governor (except for residents

of Angeles City), two or three board members depending on their district, one mayor, one vice mayor, and eight or 10 councilors.

Voters may visit the profiles of each presidential, vice presidential, and senatorial candidate—including party-list groups—on Vote Pilipinas’ website at https://votepilipinas.com/index.html.
