Lingganay sa simbahan mobagting isip timaan sa pagsugod sa eleksiyon

Ang Mayo 9 national ug local elections sugaton sa pagbagting sa mga lingganay sa tanang simbahan sa tibuok nasod tukma nga alas 6:00 sa buntag karon, subay sa Circular No. 22-16 sa Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).

“On Monday, May 9, upon the opening of the polling precincts, we have our Church bells rung at 6 a.m. for 10 minutes,” matod ni CBCP President Bishop Pablo David.

“(This is) to remind our faithful to exercise their civic duty as citizens to vote, and to do so in the spirit of prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to enlighten their consciences in their choice of new national and local leaders for our country,” dugang niya.

Gawas sa pagbagting, ang mga relihiyusong lider mohimo og tulo ka adlaw nga “intense prayers” sa sulod sa mga simbahan ug kapilya sa tibuok nasod.

Niini, matod niya, sila molitok sa pag-ampo sa Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, uban sa Litany of Our Lady of Loreto, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, ug ang Oratio Imperata for the Elections.

“That during the whole days of May 8, 9 and 10, we keep our parish churches open and the Blessed Sacrament exposed for adoration, and encourage our lay faithful — especially our Eucharistic Adorers and members of the Apostleship of Prayer — to take turns in keeping vigil before the Blessed Sacrament,” matod ni David.

“We request the communities of consecrated persons in our respective ecclesiastical jurisdictions, especially the Contemplatives among them, to do the same in their Convent chapels,” dugang ni David.

Ang pangulo sa CBCP nangaliya sa paggiya sa Holy Spirit sa “pag-iway sa mga dautang espiritu” nga modaut sa gawasnon nga ehersisyo sa eleksiyon.

“We can only fight this battle in the best way we can: through prayer and well-discerned action,” uban sa pnghinaut ni David sa gawasnon ug malinawon nga piniliay. (HDT, SunStar Philippines)
