INCUMBENT Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson said he will cast his vote in his hometown, San Carlos City, today, May 9.

Lacson said that he is voting at Precinct No. 0202A in Guadalupe Elementary School.

The governor is being challenged by former congressman lawyer Juan “John” Orola Jr. and Ma. Socorro Sibulan.

For his part, incumbent Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer will cast his vote at Barangay Ma-ao in Bago City. He is being challenged by Jonry Gargarita.

Despite running as a tandem, the province's top two officials are supporting separate presidential candidates.

Lacson is supporting Vice President Leni Robredo while Ferrer is supporting former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

They said that they respect each others’ choice.*
