NEGROS Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, the prime mover of the campaign of the tandem of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio in the province, celebrated their lead in the presidential and vice presidential race, respectively.

Despite losing to Vice President Leni Robredo in Negros Occidental, Ferrer said they are all grateful to the overall turnout of votes for Marcos in the province.

Duterte-Carpio, meanwhile, won over Senator Francis Pangilinan in the province.

Of the 31 mayors in Negros Occidental, 28 of them and majority of the congressmen and congresswomen had supported Marcos and Duterte-Carpio’s candidacies.

Generally, Ferrer said, the overwhelming support for BBM-Sara tandem humbled him and his provincial team of loyalists and die-hard supporters.

He said that they have seen how the Negrenses supported the UniTeam ticket led by Marcos.

Ferrer was with Vallacar Transit Inc. chairman and president Leo Rey Yanson, Silver Dragon Construction and Lumber and Glass Supply Inc. founder Jerry Sy, Negros Occidental Gun Club President Janet Gonzaga, and provincial BBM-Duterte campaign spokesman former Murcia Mayor Sonny Coscolluela, among other personalities, during a dinner party at the Stonehills suite in Bacolod City on Tuesday, May 10.
