OUTGOING Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia has created a post-election cleanup committee to remove the large quantity of campaign materials installed by candidates in various areas in the city during the campaign period.

Leonardia, who signed Executive Order No. 24 on May 10, 2022, directed members of the committee to ensure the speedy removal of campaign materials.

Also, it was directed to coordinate with the presidents of the Liga ng mga Barangay, Sangguniang Kabataan, and garbage collection contractor, IPM-Construction and Development Corp. for the conduct of the cleanup.

The committee is chaired by Leonardia and co-chaired by Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran with City Administrator Edward Joseph Cuansing as action officer.

The committee members included Acting Secretary to the Mayor Ma. Victorias Parrenas; Engineer Aladino Agbones of City Engineer’s Office; General Services Office head Gilda Lluisma; Ramil Palalon, officer-in-charge of Department of Public Services; Atty. Reuben Sabig of the City Legal Office; and the Public Information Office.

Leonardia also tasked its members to inform private property owners regarding the removal of campaign materials.

“Those involved in the committee must ensure the cleanliness of the city after the removal operations,” he said.

As shown in his Facebook account, Familiaran already started removing his campaign materials in various areas of the city.
