Central Luzon cops to remain on alert

DESPITE the conclusion of the local polls, the policemen of Central Luzon will remain on alert in the coming days.

Police Regional Office Central Luzon Director Matthew Baccay said the alert status is in preparation for possible demonstrations or rallies as some supporters show protest on the result of the recent conduct of 2022 national and local polls.

He, however, assured that all police personnel on ground are instructed to observe maximum tolerance if there will be groups who will push through with their mass actions.

“The PNP respects the conduct of protest actions as we understand the sentiments of the supporters so we also hope that the protesters will also respect the rules to ensure everyone’s safety especially now that health protocols are still being implemented,” he said.

He, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation which resulted in the peaceful conduct of elections.

“We also recognize and appreciate the active participation of the Filipinos at large paving way for a generally peaceful elections not just here in the region but the entire country as well,” he said.
