BI nabs American national charged with child abuse

CLARK FREEPORT --- Agents of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested an American national wanted in the US for child molestation.

On Thursday, the BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) in Manila sent the team to Dapitan City, Zamboanga which arrested the suspect.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente identified the foreigner Bradley John Moore, 49.

The arresting agents were armed with a mission order issued by Morente, who said that he received

information of Moore's crimes from US authorities in Manila.

“We will send him back to the US immediately for him to face his crimes, after which he will be placed in our blacklist and banned from re-entering the country,” Morente said.

The BI chief described Moore as an undesirable alien whose continued presence here poses a serious threat to Filipino children.

BI-FSU Acting Chief Rendel Ryan Sy said Moore is already an overstaying alien as records showed that he last arrived in Manila on December 6, 2020, and did not depart since then.

The suspect's passport has been cancelled already by the US government, making him an undocumented alien.

Sy said Moore is wanted to stand trial before a district court in McKinney, Texas which issued warrants for his arrest.

He was allegedly charged before the said court with aggravated sexual assault of a child, three counts of indecency and having sexual contact with a child.

Moore is temporarily detained at the Dapitan City police station prior to his eventual transfer to the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City where he will remain while undergoing deportation proceedings.
