CITY OF SAN FERNANDO —Vice Governor Lilia “Baby” Pineda expressed delight that the newly elected members of the Provincial Board are younger.
She stressed that they will surely bring a new perspective and energy to the legislative body.
Pineda was particularly keen on tapping third District Board Member-elect Mica Gonzales, whom she said could greatly help in her health advocacy for Pampanga and the third District.
“I am happy that we have younger members. These are the next generation of legislators that will bring their own contributions to the province,” Pineda told reporters.
Pineda said that she is excited to work with the rest of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and welcomes the younger members like Winwin Garbo of the 1st District and Lucky Labung of the 3rd District.
For her part, Board Member-elect Mica Gonzales said she supports the programs and projects of Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda and Vice Gov. Lilia Pineda.
Gonzales said she will pursue legislative programs in health and education since these are the main areas in which she was immersed by her father in public service. She added that she brings to the legislative culture of the province new perspectives and approaches to meeting the needs of the people.
The younger Gonzales also made her commitment to supporting the pandemic resiliency programs of the current administration, adding that more than the coming elections, the pandemic is the most pressing challenge for public officials.
