A FIRE of still unknown origin hit a storage room at Purok Masinadyahon, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City Monday morning, May 16.
No injuries or casualties were reported, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
Senior Fire Officer 1 John Steward Mondido, arson investigator, said the fire started around 6:17 a.m. inside the storage room owned by Edgardo Allan Pascual Alib.
Several fire trucks were then dispatched to the area. The blaze was put out around 6:40 a.m.
The fire destroyed about P50,000 worth of properties, mostly old clothes and furniture, among other items, that were stored in the room.
Mondido said they will visit the area again to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
The BFP reminded the public to always check the electrical connection or immediately unplug an appliance if it smokes or has an unusual smell, and have it repaired.*
