A 53-YEAR-OLD man was found dead in a bushy area in Sitio Mohon, Barangay Bakhawan, Daanbantayan town in northern Cebu Monday morning, May 16, 2022.
Senior Master Sergeant Victor Abenido of Daanbantayan Police Station identified the victim as Marlito Cabrera, 53, a resident of the said barangay.
Cabrera was found around two to four kilometers from his house with stab wounds on his face and stomach.
"It is possible that he was killed around dawn on Monday because his wounds were still fresh," Abenido said.
The victim was last seen around 7 p.m. of May 15, 2022.
The family of the victim said they had no idea who killed Cabrera as he had no known enemy in the area.
The police are now conducting an investigation to identify the culprit and to establish the motive for the killing. (GDC, TPT)
