1st Infantry Division fetes 8 personnel, gets new nurse

THE Philippine Army’s 1st Infantry Division (ID) has awarded medal to eight of its personnel consisting of four officers and four enlisted men for exemplary and dedication to duty rendered during the May 9 national and local elections.

Captain Mary Jephte Mañebog, 1ID information officer, said Tuesday, May 17, 2022, that the awardees received Military Merit Medal (MMM) in a ceremony at Camp Major Cesar Sang-an home of the 1ID headquarters in Upper Pulacan village, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The MMM recipients are: Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Sumablao; Lieutenant Colonel Michael Victoria; Major Faustino Sudio; Mayor Renie Durano; Technical Sergeant (TSgt.) Danilo Enad; TSgt. Gil Villaflor; TSgt. Jovito Magallon; and, Ronnie Mijares.

“Their dedication to duty has led to the orderly and peaceful conduct of the NLE (national and local election) 2022 within 1ID’s area of responsibility,” said Brigadier General Jose Randolf Sino Cruz, 1ID assistant division commander, who led the awarding ceremony Monday, May 16, 2022.

Sino Cruz congratulated the awardees, who are members of the Provisional Battalion, for their outstanding performance during the conduct of the election.

Meanwhile, Sino Cruz formally welcomed Second Lieutenant Janine Rosendo, the newly-assigned nurse of the 1ID.

Rosendo, a native of Kalinga, is a member of the Nurse Corps, formerly assigned with the Army General Hospital as a General Duty Nurse from January 2020 to May 2022.

Rosendo vowed to adhere to the vision and mission of the Camp Major Cesar Sang-an Station Hospital and the 1ID. (SunStar Zamboanga)
