A 35-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested in a drug bust in Toledo City, midwest Cebu, Wednesday dawn, May 18, 2022.

Lieutenant Noah Añana of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) headed the operation in Sitio Magic, Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City that led to the arrest of the suspect identified as Christine Monte de Ramos.

De Ramos hails from Barangay Pasil, Cebu City, but resides in Barangay Tipolo, Toledo City.

Her arrest came after the police poseur-buyer confirmed that the drugs bought from her tested positive for shabu.

Around 160 grams of shabu worth P1 million were confiscated from her possession.

Lieutenant Colonel Jul Mohammad Jamiri, head of the City Intelligence Unit of LCPO, said they monitored the illegal drug activities of the suspect for about a month before they conducted the drug bust.

It was also learned that the husband of De Ramos is currently detained at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City due to rape case.

Jamiri described the arrest of De Ramos as a big accomplishment of the police since the latter is one of the biggest suppliers of illegal drugs in Toledo City and its neighboring towns Balamban and Asturias. (BBT, TPT)
