Prayboys get win as Jam Ferraren explodes for 36 in MCBL Season 6

JAM Ferraren put the Prayboys on his shoulders and carried them to an 80-78 win over the Fine Droplets in the Metro Cebu Basketball League Season 6 last Sunday, May 15, at the Benedicto College gym.

A former standout of the University of San Carlos, the crafty Ferraren coolly sank two free-throws with just 16 seconds to put the Prayboys in front for good. He finished with a whopping 36 points on a super-efficient 14-of-19 shooting to go with six rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Cokaliong-ARQ Sports clobbered TSO, 93-77, thanks to a massive 39-8 run in the second canto that turned what was once a 6-15 deficit into a sizable 53-28 advantage.

Former Cesafi Mythical Five member Jerome Napao led the way for Cokaliong-ARQ Sports with 19 points, five rebounds, and three steals, while Niel Miñoza added 13 markers, six assists, and five steals.

The Wagas Ukeleles also strung up the Green Artheart, 104-42, with John Pareja tallying 23 points and seven boards. The Unknowns demolished the Toxic, 112-73, thanks to Vincent Giangan’s 26 points and seven rebounds.

The Eli Heart Fund also edged Shuriken, 75-71, as Esrom Cuizon had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. Finally, Bakersfield dropped Matahom, 92-82, with Bryle Puntual collecting an impressive 38 points, three rebounds, and three steals. (JNP)
