Over 100 students in Negros Oriental down with 'food poisoning'

(UPDATED) More than 100 students in Catalina town in Negros Oriental were brought to the hospital for treatment after consuming contaminated milk on Thursday evening, May 19, 2022.

Police Staff Sergeant Jay-Mark Dionson of Sta. Catalina Police Station told Sunstar Cebu that they are still conducting an investigation to determine whether or not food poisoning caused the incident.

"Wala kaayo koy detalye sir kon pila sir pero kasagaran sir ang naigo sir nga mga estudyante sa elementary didto sa Barangay Nagbinlod sir," Dionson said.

(I have no details yet, sir, about how many victims but majority of them were elementary students from Barangay Nagbinlod).

Aside from Santa Catalina, there were also dozens of students from Bayawan City who were brought to the hospital for a similar case. (BBT, TPT)
