The two men who were arrested by the police during the Simultaneous Anti Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) on Saturday morning, May 21, 2022,
were also tagged as responsible in the killing of a man in Barangay Bakhawan, Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu.
The suspects were identified as King David Molina, 19, and Danilo Montolo, 20, both residents of Sitio Mohon, Barangay Bakhawan.
After their arrest, some witnesses came forward and tagged the suspects as responsible in the killing of Marlito Cabrera, who was found dead Monday morning, May 16,
2022 in a bushy area in Sitio Mohon, 2-4 kilometers away from his house.
Molina and Montola were the target of one-day SACLEO, having been included in the drug watch list of Daanbantayan Police Station.
Senior Master Sergeant Victor Abenido of Daanbantayan Police Station said that around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, a concerned citizen reported to their station about the dead
body that they found in the area.
Abenido said the victim sustained hack wounds in his head and stomach.
The family of the victim said Cabrera was last seen around 7 p.m. on May 15, 2022.
They said they had no idea who killed the victim since he had no known enemy in the area.
Major Mario Inocencio, chief of Daanbantayan Police Station, said Cabrera might have been a victim of mistaken identity.
The suspects are now temporarily placed under police custody.
They will possibly be facing charges in violation the RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2022 and for murder. (GDC , TPT)
