Pangan: Moving forward

DAYS after the May 9, 2022 elections where Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo, his runningmate City Vice Mayor Atty. Geld Aquino and his entire councilor slate scored lopsided wins over Team MPD led by comebacking Marino "Boking" Morales, he (Garbo) spelled out his much stronger programs and plans for the city and its residents.

As enunciated by one of his spokespersons, Rosan S. Paquia, EnP, Mayor Garbo said he has a strengthened financial package assistance for the city's seniors and the bedridden, a more relevant program for women and the youth sector, and a viable relationship with national government agencies like the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Health (DOH) for its infrastructure and health directions.

Rosan said DPWH is in close coordination with the city, particularly the City Planning And Development Office (CPDO) for its seamless road network in Barangays San Joaquin and Dolores, especially the perimeter road and other secondary accesses.

With the former city administrator and accountant out of the equation, Rosan sees a fast turnover of reports and services, now that they have been replaced by Messrs. Madlangbayan and Deang, respectively. Rosan also sees a faster delivery of public service due to the changes.

Now that the Mabalaquenos have given Mayor Garbo and his team another mandate, there should be no hurdle for them not to continue with their laudable plans, programs and activities for the city.

After all, the citizens of Mabalacat have reposed their confidence and trust in the entire Garbo team as they are confident Garbo et al can make Mabalacat City more dynamic, economically stable and progressive.

The winners should reach out to the losers and make a unified team to visualize and implement more encouraging development for the city, make it a highly urbanized city, being one. There are other areas needing attention and focus by the leaders. The health system should be further improved and assistance to those who need one should be seriously considered.

Another important event transpired at Fiesta Communities Tabun Mabalacat City last May 14, 2022, and this is the Mr. and Ms. Teen Fiesta where eighteen participants/candidates joined the competition. Steered by the hardworking BOD and Auditor Rod D. Monis, Jr., and assisted by the homeowners' president Deenis J. dela Cruz and other board of directors, it was a resounding success and the pleased crowd cheered mightily for their favorite candidates. The coronation night will be on May 28, 2022.
