P81-M shabu seized from 3 suspects

AUTHORITIES arrested three drug suspects who yielded P81 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) during a buy-bust operation in Valenzuela City on Sunday morning, May 22, 2022.

Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge Lieutenant General Vicente Danao said Algie Mengote Labenia, 43, Nolan Sarsalito Julia, 43, and Joseph Villamor Malasaga, 50, were arrested in a drug sting conducted around 11:30 a.m. along Maysan Road by joint operatives from the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Recovered during the operation were more or less 12 kilograms of shabu with an estimated street value of P81 million.

Danao said the arrested suspects were newly identified high-value drug personalities engaged in the distribution of illegal drugs in the National Capital Region, Central Luzon and Calabarzon.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects. (SunStar Philippines)
