THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), through its Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG), has constructed a P3.5-million two-story village hall in one of Barmm’s Special Geographical Areas (SGA).
The village hall, which was turned over Friday, May 20, was built in Patot village, Pigcawayan municipality.
The construction of the village hall was funded by the MILG, through the contingency fund of the Bangsamoro Appropriations Act of 2020.
Similar projects are currently being undertaken across the 12 villages of the Pigacawayan cluster.
Lawyer Naguib Sinarimbo, MILG minister, congratulated the officials of Pigcawayan cluster for ensuring that all government projects in their jurisdiction are implemented well.
Sinarimbo underscored that under the leadership of Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, MILG was instructed to check the needs of all localities and ensure that there will be intervention from the regional government.
Meanwhile, Patot Village Chief Abdullah Alamada expressed his gratitude to the Barmm government for the new project.
Alamada said the village hall is important as it serves as a venue in addressing the problems and concerns of the constituents.
He also said that their village hall was previously destroyed due to local conflict in the area.
The local leader hopes that the new village hall will ensure the smooth delivery of services to their constituents.
Alamada said the village hall is considered as an iconic building in the locality.
The village of Patot is a home for more than 3,000 people, mostly Iranun, is one of the 63 villages in North Cotabato that officially became part of Barmm after they voted “Yes” during the plebiscite in 2019. (SunStar Zamboanga)
