A TOTAL of P12.8 million of suspected shabu were confiscated by the Police Regional Office (PRO) Central Visayas, while 604 persons were arrested during the one-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) held throughout the region from 12:01 a.m. of May 21, 2022 to midnight of May 22, 2022.
The Mandaue City Police Office had the highest quantity of illegal drugs seized during the operation with more than a kilo worth around P6 million.
Lieutenant Colonel Maria Theresa Macatangay, public information officer of the Cebu City Police Office, said illegal drug activities are still rampant in the city despite their continuing battle against the proliferation of drugs.
She thanked the residents for giving information that resulted in their arrest of their neighbors involved in drug peddling. (AYB, TPT)
