CAGAYAN de Oro has seen a steady decline in new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases as the city logged less than five cases for weeks.
As of May 22, Cagayan de Oro has recorded one new local index case over the weekend, bringing the cumulative number of infections to 25,860.
According to City Health medical officer Dr. Teodoro Yu Jr., the lone new local index case is a 73-year-old male from Barangay Nazareth who had a history of travel outside of Cagayan de Oro.
Cagayan de Oro's active cases have also gone down to five, all of which were outpatients.
The city also registered four new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 24,914.
The number of Covid-19 related deaths remains at 941, with no new Covid-related deaths recorded in the city.
