A 41-YEAR-OLD bartender was shot dead while eating porridge in an eatery at the Lapu-Lapu City Public Market on Monday morning, May 23, 2022.

Staff Sergeant Mario Torrejos identified the victim as Jeffrey Paquibot, a bartender of a restobar in Barangay Maribago and a resident of Sitio Buyong.

Torrejos said the victim, along with his cousin and co-worker, was eating porridge (lugaw) as it was the victim's routine to eat before going home from work.

Torrejos said an unidentified man wearing a full-faced black helmet, black jacket and maong pants suddenly arrived and shot the victim point blank in the head several times.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office recovered the victim's wallet containing identification cards, cellular phone, keys and other personal documents.

They also recovered from the scene spent shells of .38 revolver.

Torrejos told SunStar Cebu that they already have persons of interest in the crime but refused to reveal them pending an investigation. (GDC, TPT)
