NUSTAR is the talk of the town. A development by Universal Hotels and Resorts Inc., the huge complex is the newest landmark at the South Road Properties. The imposing development includes a modern casino, different kinds of restaurants and food outlets, a high-end mall and three hotels.
The soft opening was a mid-morning affair that saw the unveiling of a portion of the gaming floor which, when completed, is touted to be the largest in central and southern Philippines. Three restaurants are already open in the casino premises: the Italian steakhouse Il Primo; the Filipino resto Fino; and the all-day casual dining Xin Tian Di which offers Chinese cuisine.
Frontliner on that festive day was Frederick Go, president and chief executive officer of Universal Hotels and Resorts who said: “Today is an auspicious day to celebrate NUSTAR’s milestone. Although there were some industry challenges that we faced the past two years, we remain committed in this collaboration to mark Cebu as the ultimate leisure destination in the country.”
