THE 106.8418-hectare land located at Barangay Purisima in Manapla town, Negros Occidental that hosts the Victorias Milling Company (VMC) Distillery Plant has been exempted from Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (Carp) coverage.
Records from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) showed that a certificate of finality regarding the exemption was released February 18, 2020.
The certificate is final and executory, the document signed by lawyer Marjorie Ayson, director of the DAR Bureau of Agrarian Legal Assistance, also showed.
The release of the documents came amid claims by some agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) that the land should be distributed to them as it is covered by Carp.
But the document showed the land had been reclassified into non- agricultural use.
The order is also subject to several conditions including the disturbance compensation to the affected tenants, farmworkers or bonafede occupants.
Applicant shall allow duly-authorized representatives of the DAR free and unhampered access to the subject property for the purpose of monitoring compliance, it said.
The DAR reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the Order for misrepresentation of facts, it added.
