NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson lauded on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 the four Negrenses who won in their respective events at the 2022 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Lacson said this is a proud moment for the province of Negros Occidental as four Negrenses won two gold medals and two bronze medals in their respective boxing categories.

Ian Clark Bautista of Binalbagan, and Rogen Ladon of Bago City won the gold medals, and Riza Pasuit of Binalbagan and James Palicte of Bago City won the bronze medals.

“Our warmest congratulations. Qualifying for the SEA Games is a long journey and we all know how the pandemic made it more difficult for all of you, yet you emerged on top of your sport,” the governor said.

He said that their outstanding accomplishment has shown us what Negrenses are capable of achieving when a formidable goal is approached with relentless dedication, hard work, faith in oneself, and most of all, faith in God.

“On behalf of a very proud Province, congratulations,” he said, adding that the athletes hopefully would continue to be exemplars of excellence and inspiration to all the Negrenses, particularly to our youth. (PR)
