Lending collector loses cash to robber in Aloguinsan

A 20-YEAR-OLD lending collector was robbed by an unidentified man in Barangay Bonbon, Aloguinsan town, southwest Cebu on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Lieutenant Roberto Barnido Jr. of the Aloguinsan Police Station identified the victim as Jessa Lee Dangculos Felecia, a collector of ASA Lending Company from Barangay Lagunde, Oslob town, southern Cebu but temporarily residing in Poblacion, Aloguinsan.

Barnido said that around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, the victim was driving a motorcycle in an interior portion of Sitio Galo, Barangay Bonbon, Aloguinsan to collect payments from the members of ASA Lending, when a motorcycle-riding man blocked her way, pointed a gun at her, opened fire to the ground and then grabbed her backpack and a shoulder bag containing P16,000 cash, cellphone worth P6,000, personal money worth P200, an ATM card and other documents.

The robber fled after the incident.

Barnido said the victim described the robber as wearing a helmet, bonnet, dark blue t-shirt and long pants.

Barnido said they are now conducting a follow-up investigation on the incident.

"We are now looking for CCTV cameras in the area to help us identify the suspect," Barnido added.

Barnido said they already have persons of interest in the robbery but refused to divulge them pending verification. (GDC, TPT)
