THE City Government of Angeles has purchased a truck mounted street sweeper also called as "Bilis Walis" truck, the first of its kind in Pampanga.

The newly purchased truck is among the 21 vehicles that have been blessed alongside the parking lot in the City Hall on May 24, 2022, to further optimize public service for Angeleños.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said this is to further maintain the cleanliness and orderliness throughout Angeles City, one of the cornerstone programs of his administration.

This was also confirmed by City Engineer Donato Dizon, who also took heed in building the new parking lot with Lazatin and Chief Adviser IC Calaguas.

Dizon will supervise the operation of the street sweeper truck assigned to the Environmental Management System.

He also said the City Engineering Office and the EMS are always on the lookout for further improvements for the city’s betterment.

“Continuous pa rin mga proyekto natin, kahit na maliliit na projects, mayroon pa ring ongoing kagaya ng drainage, lalo na tag-ulan, [at] mga road improvements. Tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang pagpapagawa ng mga kalsada,” he added.

Some of the purchased vehicles for public utility are three Isuzu Wing Vangs for the Walang Plastikan/Palit Bigas Project; three Isuzu Dump Trucks for the EMS Garbage Collection and another of the same unit for the CEO Operation and Maintenance; six Toyota Commuter Vans for the City Social Welfare and Development Office, Business Permit and Licensing Division, Gender and Development Office, Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (Acedipo), Information Communication and Technology Division, and Mayor’s Office; three Toyota FX Hilux for Bale Angeleño, Sanitary Division, and City Health Office operations and another unit for the City Veterinary Operations; and three electronic bicycles donated by K-Servico to be used by the Acedipo.

This was shared by General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo.

These vehicles will continue to serve their purpose in the offices mentioned, Malonzo said.

Lazatin further emphasized the need for the full support of the city government’s offices, especially in delivering and working towards the development of the city.

“Mahalaga po ang pagsuporta sa mga iba’t ibang proyekto ng mga opisina at departmento, dahil ito po ay para sa ikauunlad ng ating siyudad. Rest assured po na ginagawa ng natin lahat upang masiguro ang kaligtasan at convenience ng bawat mamamayan ng siyudad ng Angeles,” he claimed.

The City Government has ongoing projects for the social welfare of Angeleños such as the Walang Plastikan/Plastic to Bigas project, garbage collection, and blended vaccination scheme projects tied up with the City Health Office such as Ronda Bakuna, Sundo Bakuna, and Suyod Bakuna which all utilize publicly owned utility vehicles.
