THE Roxas Night Market in Davao City has earned at least P1-million since its reopening in March 2022, according to the City Economic Enterprise (CEE) on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

CEE operations assistant Derreck Cainglet Jr. told SunStar Davao that a total of P1,054,390 was collected from the rental payment of 258 vendors in the said night market. The 258 vendors or stalls are divided into four sections: the food section, accessories, ready-to-wear (RTW), and massage.

The food section brought in the most earnings with P348,900 collected from 58 vendors, followed by the RTW section with P311,290 from 65 vendors, and P306,460 from 65 vendors in accessories.

Both the RTW and accessories section have a monthly due of P2,170 or P70 per day, while the food vendors are due of P3,100 per month or P100 per day.

The massage section, with a monthly rent of P620 per month or P20 per day, produced P87,740.

Since its reopening, the Roxas Night Market vendors are consistent with their rental payment wherein the rates were based on which was based on the 2017 Revenue Code of Davao City.

The Roxas Night Market vendors are shuffled every three months to ensure that all vendors who wish to operate at the night market will be given a chance to do so.

Cainglet said the reshuffling may happen next month in June and the next batch of vendors will be chosen via raffle. He added that it has not yet been finalized if there will be an increase of vendors in the next batch.

“Wala pa pud board resolution ang Tiangge sa Katawhan kung dungagan pa ba ang atong mga existing stalls karon. Kay gitanaw pud nato ang minimum public health protocol maong kana lang ang number of stalls na gi-allow (The Tiangge sa Katawhan has not yet issued a board resolution if they will add more vendors and stalls. They are also looking at the implementation of the minimum public health protocols to determine how many vendors should be allowed),” he said.
