FOR an alleged maltreatment of patients and medical malpractice, four doctors from provincial government-run hospitals in Negros Occidental are now under probe.

Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz II, who withheld the names of the doctors, said on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, that complaints were filed against them before the Department of Health,

“They will definitely face sanctions (because) they are supposed to render quality service as they have high salaries,” Diaz said.

He said Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has been consistent to upgrade the services of the district hospitals across the province.

Diaz noted that the provincial government have implemented the “One Hospital System” to improve the health care system of the province.

“It should start from the barangay health workers up to department heads,” he stressed.

Diaz admitted that they have monitored hospitals rejecting patients by referring them to the Teresita L. Jalandoni District Hospital in Silay City.
