Maguindanao indigents get cash aid

THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), through its Pag-akay at Suporta (Pag-asa) program has released closed to P5 million financial assistant to indigents from different towns of Maguindanao.

Mohamad Asnur Pendatun, Livelihood Program head, said 333 identified recipients received each P15,000 one-time cash aid on Thursday, May 26.

The Pag-asa program is a subcomponent of the Office of the Chief Minister’s (OCM) Project Tabang (Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan).

Pendatun said the program is aimed to alleviate the drastic effect of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic to residents who are at risk of not earning a regular income, like Madaris teachers and senior citizens.

He said the recipients of the cash aid released Thursday, May 26, comprise the second batch of beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, Tabang Project Manager Tumanda Antok said the pay-out program was a manifestation of their commitment to the people of Barmm. (SunStar Zamboanga)
